Bad Ass Boots has a unique sound all their own with songs that are sensual, tough and fun-loving. A hybrid of Americana, rockabilly & country soul.
Billie Burnor (Vocals & Guitar)
Founding member of Bad Ass Boots, Burnor’s sultry unique vocal style has been sometimes been compared to Lucinda Williams. Founding member of LA based band The Mustangs – opened shows for legendary King of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe, Rosie Flores, Jeffrey Steele, Dave Alvin & the Blasters. Her songs always have memorable soaring melodies.
Shazam (Harp & Vocals) aka Suzanne Cimone
Shazam’s a fiery blues harp maiden, played in Wild Angels, Wild Oats, Average Dyke Band – she has her own band “Suzanne Cimone and Pieces of Gold”. Shazam’s vocals are passionate with tinges of jazz/ blues; her lyrics; honest and witty. A true performer!
Joyce Baker (Drums)
You can count on tasty fills, jumpin’ drums and groove meister for every song. She has been playing drums since she was a child with her famous father “Buddy” Baker influenced by big band, jazz, rock and R&B. Joyce shared the stage with Con Funkshun, Debra Harry, and Linda Tillery. Played & recorded with Mel Graves, George Marsh, Opie Bellas, Lea DeLaria, Mimi Fox, Amy Meyers, Liquid Girlfriend, Nicholas Glover & Wray. Joyce always keeps the band lighthearted and in time! Billie Duffey (Bass)
Discography: Spiral Dance, The Rhythm Method, The Eelectric Eels, Charley’s Supersmooth Review, Nick Bristowe, The Hat Band & Chamber Jazz. Billie received the Junior Peabody Award in the US for composition at 15 and won a twenty thousand dollar scholarship from the government of Canada to study film scoring and composition in Canada. Her eclectic music style and unique bass lines is Bad Ass Boots’s secret ingredient.
Pat Duffey (Lead Guitar & amp; Pedal Steel)
Pat’s influences of Michael Hedges, Iona and his love of blues/rock sets Bad Ass Boots apart from other country bands. Pat’s songwriting and guitar style is a combo of rock, celtic and country. He’s toured with The Imperials and has shared the stage with Bob Marley and Wailers, Earth Wind and Fire, Booker T. and the MG’s, Tower of Power, Sylvester, Stanley Clark, and more.
